Biographical sketch

The oldest of these trade associations was the Manufacturing Chemists Association (MCA), founded in 1872 as an advocacy group for the American chemical industry. It is now known as the American Chemistry Council Inc. (ACC). The Commercial Chemical Development Association (CCDA) was formed in 1943 and, after a merger with the CMRA became known as the Commercial Marketing and Development Association (CDMA). The material in this collection predates this merger. The Chemical Management and Resources Association (CMRA) was formed in 1945, and in 1999 merged with the CCDA.
