Biographical sketch
The Division of Chemical Health and Safety (DCHAS) is a currently active division of the American Chemical Society. The division was founded at American Chemical Society's 178th Meeting in September 1979. Nobel Prize winning radiochemist Glenn T. Seaborg played an instrumental role in its formation. The mission of the Division of Chemical Health and Safety is to provide authoritative technical resources in the areas of chemical health and safety. It works to promotes health and safety within the chemical industry. The division also involves itself in laws and regulations governing the chemical industry.
