Thomas J. Porro Collection of Perkin-Elmer Photographs
Print photographs and slides depicting the instrumentation and staff of the Perkin-Elmer Corporation predominately dating from the 1950s and the 1980s.
Uniroyal Chemical history materials
The collection consists of a photocopy of a typewritten paper by Borg on the history of Uniroyal Chemical and a special 75th Anniversary issue of Uniroyal Chem-Texts , vol. 13, 1979, No. 3 containing an abbreviated history of the company. This appears not to have written by Borg.
United States Steel Corporation flow charts showing how steel is made
This is second printing a chart that originally appeared in 1953. The imagery is simple and easy-to-follow. The chart could be folded down to 8"x10" and is perforated on one edge for inserting into a ring-binder suggesting that it was designed for use in schools.
Varian Associates schematics
These are miscellaneous schematics from Varian Associates for their Model V6060 mass spectrometer and other products. All date from the period 1960-1963. About half is related to the Model V6060, but the rest is a miscellany.
Virginia-Carolina Chemical Company pocket notebook
The advertising is more puff than substance, but there is a useful list of the various products marketed by the Virginia-Carolina Chemical Company in the years 1916-1917. These are organized by type and include "guaranteed analyses" of the Ammonia, A.P.A. and Potash contents of each product. A former owner of the notebook wrote some figures in pencil on the first blank page, but they don't seem to add up to much.
Williams Haynes Research Collection
This collection was amassed by Williams Haynes during the course of a 38-year career as an editor and writer on the chemical industry, its history and the economic forces behind it.
